The DOE has loaned iPads to students across the city for remote learning. Here you will find information on how to get started with your iPad. School staff and community members can also use this information to help students with connectivity and other troubleshooting issues.
The DOE has loaned more than 320,000 internet-enabled iPads to students since transitioning to remote learning. We have made great strides in closing the digital divide and getting devices into the hands of our students who need them. Students who will attend a DOE school in the fall may keep their DOE iPad over the summer. In the fall, returning students will be asked to bring the DOE device to the school they will attend at that time. This includes students transitioning to new DOE schools, such as middle or high schools or students transferring to a new DOE school. That device will stay in the school’s inventory at and can be reassigned by the school, as needed.
