Welcome to P.S. 5 – THE ELLEN LURIE SCHOOL!

We are excited to begin this next chapter in your child’s life with you! We hope you are all staying healthy and strong during these challenging times.

P.S.5-The Ellen Lurie School is a Children’s Aid Community School for students in grades 3K-Grade 5 and we support learning and achievement for the entire family.

 

To ensure a smooth registration process, we will be contacting you to set an appointment for you to register your child. We anticipate the process being online and by telephone this year. We will be calling this week to confirm your acceptance of the seat.

During this difficult time, we are offering free meals for the entire family at the school from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feel free to stop by.

Happening Now: Kindergarten Offers and Waitlists

Families with children born in 2015 can now view and accept your child's offer online with MySchools. A printed copy of this offer letter has also been mailed to your child’s home address. This letter includes:

  • Your child’s kindergarten offer
  • Information about any programs where your child is waitlisted—learn more about waitlists
  • What to do next and how to accept your offer 
 

What You Can Do Without Leaving Home 

Your family’s health is important to us! Here's what you can do online with MySchools: 
 
  • Get your child’s offer letter 
  • See the waitlists your child is on 
  • Add your child to additional waitlists 
  • Check your child’s position on each waitlist 
 
Accept your offer by June to secure your child’s seat. We encourage you to accept your offer even if you are hoping for a G&T offer or a waitlist offer. Accepting your child’s kindergarten offer will not affect their chances of getting a G&T offer or an offer from a program where they are waitlisted.
